The Benefits

Lactated Ringer’s (LR)

Lactated Ringer’s (LR) is an Intravenous (IV) fluid that contains sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, and lactate. It closely matches the body’s blood plasma and helps restore fluid and electrolyte balance.

Proper hydration supports circulation, nutrient delivery, and neurologic stability during migraine episodes.

Sodium Chloride 0.9%

Sodium Chloride 0.9% helps replenish fluids and electrolytes and treats dehydration.

This hydration base supports clients experiencing headaches, nausea, or dehydration-related depletion by helping restore the fluid balance the body needs to recover.

B-Plex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6)

B-Plex is a blend of B vitamins that helps support metabolism as cofactors for breaking down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. B vitamins also support immune function, red and white blood cell production, energy levels, cardiovascular health, inflammation response, and overall cellular function.

For migraine support, B-Plex helps replenish key nutrients when clients may be dealing with nausea, reduced intake, fatigue, or general depletion. It also supports the energy and nervous-system side of the formula, making it a strong complement to Pyridoxine and Magnesium.

WARNING: patients can taste, bring a snack or gum.

DISCLAIMER: Do not give B-Plex more than 2 times per month.

Pyridoxine / Vitamin B6

Pyridoxine, also known as Vitamin B6, supports immune and nervous-system function.

It also plays a role in white blood cell and T-cell production, making it a useful support vitamin when nausea, depletion, and nervous-system strain are part of the picture.

Magnesium

Magnesium supports intracellular processes, energy supply, relaxation, blood pressure, stress response, and muscle recovery. It is one of the strongest fits for headache-focused support because it helps address tension, nervous-system sensitivity, and vascular strain.

DISCLAIMER: No magnesium in pregnancy / nursing.

Glutamine

Glutamine supports recovery during physical stress and depletion, adding cellular and recovery support.

Ondansetron

Consult required.

Ondansetron is a provider-directed add-on used for nausea support. Dosing determined by provider.

Ketorolac

Consult required.

Ketorolac is a provider-directed add-on used for pain and inflammation support when appropriate.

Acetaminophen

Acetaminophen 1000mg oral may be used as a pain-relief option for clients who need additional symptom support.

It should only be used if there are no liver complications and the provider approves it.

Analgesic

Consult required and Prescription required.

Analgesics help reduce pain signals associated with migraine-related discomfort. For clients experiencing more intense symptoms, this option may provide additional pain relief.
